Stand Still!

Thursday, July 05, 2012

Hello,
I seem to be at a stand still with my weigh loss. I could really use some advise on this. I find myself getting very frustrated, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have worked very hard, and want to be able to still maintain my healthy weight loss.

I agree with the earlier posters. Maybe mix up your exercise routine? You also could play a little with where you are on your calorie range. If you're eating toward the low end, try to get in a few more calories -- it seems counterintuitive but that can help.

Even though you might not be seeing the number on the scale go down, remember that that is only one measure. One measure that we give too much power to. What about other, non-scale-related things that are positive? Maybe make a list of those things. i bet you're seeing other changes even if that stupid scale isn't reflecting them right now.

Don't give up, whatever you do. emoticon

    1. Play!!! I can't stress this enough grab some kids for a game of marco polo. or freaze tag. we were skinny as kids for a reseon.

2. go to your produce section and find new veggies you haven't tried. you might find something new you like

3. subscribe to the recipe a day here. even if you don't make it exactlly like chef meg does you get to fall in love with cooking. and you become more concious of what you eat.

4. keep water in your fridge even if you hate the taste you will feel better for drinking it

If you need more Ideas message me I am full of them toodles hon!

Plateaus SUCK. My advice would be this: Try something new. Try a different exercise routine from your norm. Try pushing yourself a little harder for 1 minute at a time each time you exercise.

Increase your water intake? The more water you drink, the more you'll feel full and this may help you curb a few more calories. I know you'll think I'm crazy, but for one day at a time, try drinking one ounce of water for every pound you weigh. I know it's a LOT (I'm at 181 lbs down from over 316), but I guarantee the last thing you'll have on your mind is food! :-D

And most of all, just hang in there. Your body will adjust if you just keep working at losing, and will get with the program again.
