I follow a feed on facebook called "I see Fit People" and they usually have some profound status every morning. Today's hit home. It was about choices, and how many we have to make every single day. You should check them out if you have facebook, but here iswhat she said.
"Wendy's Tip of the Day: Choose better.
Every day we are faced with choices. We choose who to hang out with, what to feed our family, what to eat for lunch, what to make for dinner, what our workout will be, what color socks to wear. Choices. Every. Waking. Minute.
Are you making the best choices possible given the chance?
You cannot change every single aspect of your life in one magic wand wave but you can make a series of small, impactful changes that over time will show results.
Lunch: McDonald's? Or how about packing your own or if you have to eat out...evaluate the menu and choose the best option given the circumstance.
Dinner: Frozen chicken-y type food and french fries? Or how about some fresh chicken baked in the oven and some homemade sweet tater fries. Likely will take the same time to cook, and if you have done food prep, throwing it the oven only takes a few min.
Exercise: Are you stuck or not seeing results? Start doing something different. Try a new program. If you do all cardio, start adding some weight training in there. If you are bound to the weights...try adding cardio..run, do plyo, do something different. You cannot expect change if you stay in the same place, unwaivering and closed minded.
Friends: Are your friends following a different path? Are they bringing you down, always being the saboteur? Do they ooze negativity and have no desire to support what you are doing? Hmm...maybe it's time to do a little weeding. Either that or lay down the law and tell them if they want to hang with you, they are going to have to support you and cut the negative stuff. Instill the fear. :-))
Family: If your home life not where you want it to be, whether it be your mate or your kids, take a good hard look at the reason things are why they are. Change something..change anything. Eat dinner with your kids at the table. Talk to them. See what's going on in their lives. Surgically remove yourself from the computer, the cell phone, the television to watch the Reality Show that is going on in your own house. Trust me, it's much more stimulating and there are usually no reruns. Ratings will improve.
The list can go on and on and on. You have a choice in most everything you do.
Rome was not built in a day, but brick by brick any new foundation can be laid.
One brick. One choice. One change."
