I've been heading for the sweets a lot lately. It doesn't help that all the supermarkets now have vegan icecream. And I've been so busy I am too tired to think of another way to quickly boost my energy.
My face is riddled with break-outs, my flesh is puffy, my head fuzzy, my throat sore, my teeth tender... I'm not adjusted to a sugar-eating life.
(By the by, things are going very well on the weight-loss front. I'm now very very close to my maintenance point having lost a total 13 inches in the last fortnight, while doing a challenge on a fitness forum. My abs are ALMOST coming through and I have been feeling great!)
This is totally proof that sugar and eating bad food don't really affect weight loss IF you can control them, but my health in general has suffered and I know long-term I have to cut them out. I can't control sugar long-term. It starts as a couple of times a week, then its every day, and I'm always over eating, etc.
This stops now!
My first task as part of the Official Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge is to list all the reasons I want to quit sugar.
- To improve my skin
- To reduce my overeating impulses
- To feel more awake and alert
- Because it rots your teeth
- It suppresses your immune system
- Increases cholesterol
- It ages the body and skin
- Gives me horrible migraines
- Increases risk of feeding cancer cells
- Makes one insulin resistant
- Save money
I'm sure I can think of more. But that'll do for now.
Next task? Write down all the sugar I eat for a week.
Welcome back to blogging, Opal!
