Scarlet died

Wednesday, July 04, 2012

A renter we have here was asked to vacate after harassing other guests. Within 48 hours, my cat and dog died, the same way pretty much. Convulsions, spasms, foaming at mouth, couldn't walk. We suspect he poisioned them both since he knew they were ours, and they were outside small animals that used to go to everyone, very friendly.

Scarlet had as a pup been rescued from a guy that was getting rid of his dogs puppies by shooting them. Scarlet had a bullet hit her square on the top of her head (hair would not grow there). She was rescued, and I found great joy with this dog that loved me, sought me out so often, would come running up to me to brighten my day. She was so sweet....

So my daughter has lost her three best friends in a matter of weeks.

We are helping to press charges and working with a detective to get him out.

Today, despite everything, I am trying to continue on my journey. Next monday is the seminar for surgery.

I will keep praying for strength. I have realized that you cannot let things like this consume you. It is horrible, but you cannot make anyone care or have compassion. The authorities are cold, but they have a job to do, and there will never be real justice until the kingdom arrives.

Explain that to a six year old though, it's not easy... mean people exist. This is the world we live in.

Rose..I haven't been on SP in a long while so I'm not caught up with what you have been up to lately. Sorry to hear what is going on though.

Recently our cat was killed going into the road and my younger daughter's hamster died. It's always so sad to lose a pet :(

I have not been on Spark mainly becausing I'm trying to balance life and spend more time on spiritual things and with everything else there is little time for Spark :(

But...what I have been coming to grips with is that I can find true peace and happiness with Jehovah and that he really sustains us. So true that each day has it's own anxieties, but despite them we can still find happiness even though we have momentary sadness with certain circumstances. ::hugs::

Rose, I am so sorry! Make sure you keep close tabs on anything else till they get him out and hopefully in jail. It is hard to teach children that there are evil people out there, ones you cannot trust. It's even harder when you are running a resort and people come and go. You are all in our prayers emoticon

So sorry that some sick vindictive guy poisoned your pets. What a loss! loving kind companions that never hurt anyone. You are lucky you got him out of the apartment; he would have been a danger to keep as a resident. My deepest sympathy on the loss of your family companions. emoticon

I am horrified to hear that your pets have been possibly poisoned. My sister had a huge blue great dane that was poisoned. It cost them a fortune with veterinary bills and the dog still died. Her kids were young too and it was so hard on them. I'm shocked that such evil people exist, but as you say, its the horrid system we live in.

I am so sorry for your loss and for you having to go through this heartbreaking situation. Do stick to your goals despite this, as a healthy lifestyle will help you cope better and help you feel better by being in control of at least that aspect of your life. I like the suggestion of the books, it sounds like good advice. I will keep you in my prayers.

That made me almost cry. I was never a pet person until I married my husband who had our dog, Lacy. She totally has changed my life. I would have never been abusive to animals though...just didn't want anything to do with them. Never would have hurt them...karma baby...that crap will come back on your neighbor one day!

Lacy has totally changed me and made me realize that pets will give you unconditional love and look up at you with those big innocent eyes just wanting love back.

I will say a prayer for you and your little girl. Maybe you can find a book about the Rainbow Bridge for pets...I think I have heard about this where pets go on to heaven. Maybe if you read a little to her every night from it, it would help her. "The Rainbow Bridge: Pet Loss Is Heaven's Gain" OR "Dog Heaven." I see both of these on Amazon and they look pretty good.
