13.1 ....here I come!

So today is the day. I am getting serious about tracking and making conscious effort to exercise instead of finding every excuse not to. The nurse at my school (who got me into running) had mentioned a half marathon that is happening in November. I laughed in her face. Me???....Run a half marathon??? I would die!! So before the last day of school she printed me out an "8 week training plan for a half marathon". I looked at it and actually thought about starting it many times.

What better day than today to begin ;). I must be crazy!! But I need serious motivation (maintaining a significant weight loss is much more difficult than I thought!) I need to start working out and stop being Miss Lazy. I will find every excuse not to exercise, (even as lame as "Welllllll I washed my hair today, I don't want to sweat :P) So today begins a 10 week program to a half marathon. Hey I thought a little over a year ago I would never complete the C25K -- and I did! So it just proves that if your mind believes, you WILL achieve..(or however that corny quote goes!) I decided to give myself 10 week instead of 8 to ease my way in. Tonight was my first run (it's about 4 runs a week) and it was 3 miles. I ended up running 2.87 (30 min) I think I tired myself out by running faster at times.

I just need to keep telling myself I CAN DO THIS..I CAN DO THIS! And who knows, maybe come November I will actually run the half marathon ;)

    You can do it! I am also running a half in November and I have started training early so that I can be as prepared as possible. I am excited/scared about it. Good luck with your training!

    Great to see you have your Spark truly kindled. We will cheer you through sore muscles, bad hair days and the occasional blister! We might even have a water bottle or two waiting at the side of the road, whatever you need, just call!
    I am being serious with my tracking too, my next goal is in sight and I'm fed up with self sabotage....so here's to wonderland, or onederland as Sparkers call it

    I am very glad you understand that motivation is not some sparkle that is coming from the outside and bless you. It is all inside of you and we need to just release it without thinking about it. If you really want to do it, you will. The battle is won or lost in the head.

    You can so do this! It is SO much fun! You will try to psych yourself but don't - you will do so well! I didn't think I would make it, but if you keep at it - you will. I never got up to 10 mile runs a day, I just couldn't do it - I got up to 3-4 mile runs at a time and it was enough for me.

    I have one I'm hoping to do November 4th and the Disney Princess one Feb 24th. :)
