So today is the day. I am getting serious about tracking and making conscious effort to exercise instead of finding every excuse not to. The nurse at my school (who got me into running) had mentioned a half marathon that is happening in November. I laughed in her face. Me???....Run a half marathon??? I would die!! So before the last day of school she printed me out an "8 week training plan for a half marathon". I looked at it and actually thought about starting it many times.
What better day than today to begin ;). I must be crazy!! But I need serious motivation (maintaining a significant weight loss is much more difficult than I thought!) I need to start working out and stop being Miss Lazy. I will find every excuse not to exercise, (even as lame as "Welllllll I washed my hair today, I don't want to sweat :P) So today begins a 10 week program to a half marathon. Hey I thought a little over a year ago I would never complete the C25K -- and I did! So it just proves that if your mind believes, you WILL achieve..(or however that corny quote goes!) I decided to give myself 10 week instead of 8 to ease my way in. Tonight was my first run (it's about 4 runs a week) and it was 3 miles. I ended up running 2.87 (30 min) I think I tired myself out by running faster at times.
I just need to keep telling myself I CAN DO THIS..I CAN DO THIS! And who knows, maybe come November I will actually run the half marathon ;)
