Cooking in the Heat

It's heading toward 100 degrees again today in Wisconsin, and I have no desire to turn on my oven. Those awesome fiber-filled muffins I was planning to bake? Not going to happen. But since every day cannot consist of cold meat and fruit, I have brought out the slow cooker.
Yesterday I used Spark recipes and simmered a whole chicken all day long in white wine and onion soup mix. (Recipe: http://recipes.sparkpeople.com

The kitchen stays cool, and nothing beats dinner just waiting for you at the end of the day.
