Power came back on last evening!

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

Went out for dinner and came home and the power was back on. Made me very thankful for all the hard working people working around the clock to restore power. You don't appreciate what you have until you don't have it. Things we take for granted are so appreciated when you don't have them for awhile.

Messed up eating and exercise and tracking. Now to get back on track.

Hubby got to talk with neighbors too! We live next door and never talk to them.

Work was crazy...but our power and internet were working. Had over 34 calls in the morning for claims. We thought the phone would never stop ringing!

Took all the change in stride and calmly. Nothing we can do but move forward.

Showered and dressed at Mom's. She enjoyed being able to help me out and I'm sure she enjoyed the company for an hour.

Today should be calmer and tomorrow off to celebrate July 4th. Heading to my daughter in law's for July 4th celebration! Mom always enjoys time with their family. Trying to think of something to take.....thinking of a fruit tray with healthy choices to nibble on.

Off to make it a great day!

When the power goes out for a few days, one greatly appreciates what previously had been taken for granted. Electricity truly is a blessing! Glad you got your power back on.

One of the best block parties I've been to was during a black out (only 4 hrs, tho). Hope you bounce back easily. Sounds as though your attitude will help A LOT

You are soooo right about appreciation - just goes to show that we all need to watch that tendency to take things (and even people) for granted!

Glad to hear that your power is back!

Glad you had a pleasant surprise when you walked into your house and found power restored.

Although I have rural co-op electric the longest I have been out was 26 hours. It does go out often, but I am grateful too for the small crew we have that work around the clock to restore our outages.

The only thing that I ever worried about was refrig and freezer. Naturally, food spoilage and waste has always been a huge concern of mine being a baby boomer, but raised by parents that actually went through the Great Depression.

I think it is lovely that you seen a bright spot in that neighbors and Mom were chatted with.

Back to normalcy whatever that may bring. God bless, Kathleen.
