The tale of our daughters wedding

Monday, July 02, 2012

My daughter was married Saturday and it was hot as anything for our outdoor waterside event. The tent was set up and tables as well as the chairs when, on Friday night, a violent storm took the tent mostly down. There were tree branches everywhere. The power was blown out. We had a houseful all staying there. No one slept much with the heat. We all got up early and got to work at making it work. calming the bride down was no easy job as you can imagine. My inner positivity came out. :) Thank goodness the rental company came through at repairing and replacing what needed to be done and was able to get us extra generators so we could have music and food and lighting. ALSO thank goodness for the help of the guests staying with us. We could not have pulled this off without all those hands and minds. The caterer had to deal with no lights especially towards the end of the evening. The food was DELICIOUS, the weather nice, the sunset made for beautiful pictures over the water. The electric did not come back on until the morning after the wedding. We are all happy and the couple is enjoying a honeymoon up north. Pictures to come.

haha Yes, you DO know what I am going through! I had warned the bride that every wedding seems to have some drama involved and that it would all work out. I'm sure this one will to. I actually feel a lot better now that the pants problem doesn't seem too bad. They can always go get white shirts if they have to so I will let him figure that on out! I'm sure I will have a blog about the wedding once it's over. Oi vey!

Wow, sounds like something you'd only read about in the paper or see in a movie. I'm glad it turned out happily afterall.... If they can weather that type of storm, the rest will be easy!
