Ride a f'n bike!

So, I am beginning a love affair with cycling! Purchased a used road bike about a month ago and I LOVE riding it!

Two years ago, I signed up to do a bike trek, but failed to actually ride because I didn't have the money to purchase a proper bike. I have signed up again this year, and I am so excited to actually ride. My goal is 25-30 miles per day, and the trek is 3 consecutive days of riding.

It feels insanely good to be active and also find an activity that I really enjoy. It sucks when you have to force yourself to workout, and you fall off the wagon repeatedly because it literally holds no enjoyment. I love the way I feel when I'm riding: the wind, the workout, the freedom, the speed, the soreness afterward, etc.

I don't even mind the spandex. ;)

    Hi there! Yeah my goal is to do 25-30 miles per day at the bike trek, but for now I'm doing about the same as you. I try to ride a few times a week, and I want to start being more consistent and riding every other day. Right now I'm varying between 10-18 mile rides.

Like my bf says, every ride is epic. Because you're riding! So, even if you only feel good enough to ride 8 miles, that's great!

I'll have to look into this cream you're talking about. No major chafing so far, and the soreness goes away faster each time I climb onto the seat.

I plan on going for an early morning ride tomorrow.

Congrats on falling in love with cycling!!! :D

    I started riding three weeks ago. No where near 25-30 miles per day, but 10-14 miles per day. I have not been active pretty much my entire adult life, other than running errands and taking care of my three kids, and it feels great to bike. I cannot believe how much I enjoy it and look forward to getting on my bike. I don't mind the spandex either, happy for it actually, as after my fifth day I was raw, yes I said it RAW.
Now, thanks to bike shorts and utter cream...my ride is so much more enjoyable and growing. I joined a local bike club and am looking forward to participating. I have a lot of weight to lose, and I am stuck right now on a plateau but I am not giving up.
Will be reading your blogs for inspiration to get to 25-30 miles per day myself.
