So thanks to the strong storm that came up the coast, we lost power Friday night along with nearly 1 million other people in our area. It takes a LONG TIME to get that many people back up and running. I feel lucky that ours is back up today. There are still hundreds of thousands out. BUT these last few days with no AC with temperatures 100 or higher have been AWFUL. We didn't have AC when I was little (same area, same house). How did we do it?? I honestly don't remember ever being so miserable. Was it ever that hot? It had to be. But along with the no AC, we also had no running water and no means of cooking (not that anybody wanted to). Really limits options, so choices over the last couple of days have been less than good. On the plus side (sort of) we lost everything in the fridge and the freezer. I get to start from scratch filling it with only the good for me stuff. Headed to the store tonight (after the sun goes down!).
Along with no power, I also had no SPARKPEOPLE!! I couldn't even use my phone to check in because the towers in my area were down too! It was hard not be able to check in here everyday. I joined the Rock It! challenge that was supposed to start Sunday and I couldn't even check in to see what the first challenge is for this week. I felt so out of the loop! But I am here now. Ready to Rock It! I will not just wait until next week since I couldn't start on time (which I have been guilty of in the past). I lost 2 days. Big deal. There are 5 more. The challenge this week is to make a plan for 3 (or more) 30 (or more) minute work outs, post it, and do it. So here's my plan: During my lunch break for the rest of this week (next 4 days), I will dedicate at least 30 minutes to getting my work out in. No waiting until after dinner when life tends to get in the way until there's no time left in the day. That's my plan, and I'm sticking to it!
