Meals for the day

Monday, July 02, 2012

The food here is really good and I have been eating too much. Yesterday I made some better choices

Breakfast: 2 Tbsp granola with turkish yoghurt, strawberries and kiwi

Lunch: spinach salad with raw mushrooms, strawberries and chive cheese with a drizzle of honey mustard dressing

Dinner was out: salad, chicken kebabs with peanut sauce and fries. I left most of the fries - waayy too many!

After being here for a week I'm taking over the meal planning and most of the cooking - time to get back to normal. We've had the goodies, now we need a reality check.
My mom's stove is an induction plate, quite a change from my old gas stove in Mexico or the even older electric one in Colorado. It's rather an adjustment, it cooks quick but I can't get the "crisp" on the chicken like I normally can. By the time we leave I'll get the hang of it :)

I did bring my computer and I have done 3 yoga sessions since we got here. I even bought some yoga pants to inspire me :)

Everything looks delish! I'm sure the fresh markets there have something to do with it tasting so good.

Oh, I love an induction cooktop and so greatly miss mine. We had one for many years before it quit. Then we found that it was too expensive for us to replace the one we had, so went to an electric. It took forever for me to get used to them. I love that when you turn the induction heat off, things stop cooking! Miss that. Hugs to you. You are doing emoticon

    The food looks yummy!
So glad that you are able to take controll and do the cooking. Is that stove top work on a magnetic principle? Just wondering. I think my sister has that and it does cook quick.
Enjoy learning something new.
Have a wonderful week
