June Report

Monday, July 02, 2012

A pretty strong month with some emotional turbulence thrown in. I should probably preface this by saying that in the middle of the month my family and I spent a week with a dying grandfather, then the funeral and caring for the newly-widowed grandma. I had no time for exercise. (I spent over 48 hours in the car that week). Nutrition was utter crap. And it was very difficult watching him suffer. That curveball did throw off some of my June goals, but the rest of the month was spot-on. So I'll pardon myself for one very messed up week that was beyond my control and focus on the rest.

I tracked my food every day except for that one week, which is 25 days out of 30. I gave myself a silver star for "good diet day" 17/30 days - better than last month's 14/31. And I currently have a "good diet day" streak going six days strong!

I have been slacking on the cardio, unless you count cleaning and unpacking boxes. But I'm still using the Ballet Beautiful DVD set pretty consistently and love it! [For those of you unfamiliar, I wrote a blog on this set a few entries back if you want more details].

My highest weight this month was 157.0, and my lowest weight about three days ago was 153.6. My goal was to leave the 150s, and I think if that one week hadn't happened I would have managed it. But I'm still delighted with a three pound loss.

Bust: 38"
Under bust: 33.5" down a half inch!
Bicep: 13"
Waist: 31.5"
Hips: 38.5" down a half inch!
Thigh: 24"
Calf: 14.5 down a half inch!

emoticon Managed 4 blogs out of an intended 12

emoticon Wrote one chapter in the novel

emoticon Made big progress on Summer Reading Program by finishing War and Peace. (A wonderful read!)

emoticon Managed 1785 fitness minutes, thanks in part to cleaning and hauling boxes.

emoticon Spoiled myself with a lot of time in the hot tub and a fresh DIY mani/pedi every week.

emoticon Write 12 blogs

emoticon Write 3 chapters in the novel

emoticon Post progress pictures of the very disorganized bedroom and bathroom. First, I want to show you my new room. Second, I want to shame myself into getting it presentable. No visible clutter! And to make this happen ....

emoticon Aim for 3 hours a week of cleaning, organizing, and purging!

emoticon Make more progress on Summer Reading Program, which is my own idea to read as many books on my bookshelves as possible before school starts. Currently reading Treasure Island, Lolita, and starting Don Quixote at work on my break tomorrow.

emoticon Aim for 8 hours of sleep every night.

emoticon Track food every day, no excuses. Aim for 1500 calories.

emoticon Do strength training 2-3 times a week minimum.

emoticon Do cardio at least 3 times a week, about an hour each.

emoticon Take measurements at least once a month.

emoticon Leave the 150's for good! I'm aiming for 148. I don't know if I can do 6 pounds in one month, but I'm sure going to try!

First I want to say I'm sorry for the loss of your grandfather. I'm not good with words in these situations, but my heart truly goes out to you and your family, it's a very difficult thing to go through.

Secondly, I love how specific your goals are for July. You made them very measurable! Best of luck working towards them, I've got faith in you :)
