While June was not by any means a bad month for me, it wasn't the glorious rejuvination of healthful eating and exercise that I had hoped it would be. The reason for that is simply that we were just too busy. I had too many days where I was chauffering the kids from place to place, and was too tired for exercise and tracking my food, and sometimes didn't have the time or ingredients on hand to make good, healthy meals. My kids and I were VERY busy with VBS, a new puppy, catching up with all the friends we had ignored during the school year, etc. I'm hoping to slow down a little in July. Well, a lot actually.
My goals for July are:
1. To lose at least 3 lbs.
2. Finish reading A Mother's Rule of Life and make a schedule to keep myself more centered on prayer (plus any other nifty suggestions it has for growing closer to God).
3. Get back to being consistent with exercising. I used to get up early and get my cardio in and get a shower before the rest of my household was up. I'm still getting up early, but now my time is consumed with running after the puppy who needs to go out every 10 seconds (or so it seems). It keeps me busy, but doesn't do much for my heart rate :-)
July also needs to be the time I look over our school books for next year, make sure I have everything I need, and make sure I can work out a doable schedule for myself and the kids. I think I might plan a weekly beach day so the kids can have fun and I can get that work finished in an environment that feels like vacation, even if I'm still working :-)
