Pushing into July!

Sunday, July 01, 2012

How did I do in June? Really well in general, but could have done better. I have the supplement habit down so I can take that off my list for July. (I even added one more, l-Glutamate, to help with alcohol cravings.)

I need to keep the "get up and walk at work" one on the July list because it's not automatic yet: I do it most days but HAVE to be reminded of it. That has to change.

As for the "beer rules", I can stick to 3 beers a night most of the time but it's still an effort. I only had 4 or 5 slips during June but that means I need to stick to this level for at least another month or two until I'm consistent.

I actually did pretty well on stretching my meals further apart, though it made no difference in weight. I've cut back weekday snacks by a good bit and have made some progress on the weekend as well. I'll keep working on it, but I think it's actually a habit now, so I'm not keeping that on the July challenge list.

So what's my personal challenge for July?

~ Maintain the Beer Rules: Nothing before 10:10 and no more than 3 a day.
~ Walk, walk, walk at work: Get up from that damn desk!
~ Make a place in my day for the jumping jacks we did in June! 30 minimum, more if time allows!
~ Add the July challenge pushups in. Thirty pushups on July 30? I'm in!
~ Keep my itty bitty little routine while I'm stuck at my desk, but add real iron pumping in small increments every month. This month is 10 pound hand weights and tricep extensions. Don't have a number or reps figured out yet. Need to evaluate as I go.

OK. So. Modest goals as usual, but more than last month. Happy July, all!

WOOHOO for goals!!!!!!!! Some wise Spark-BFF told me once to take baby steps...I think of her every time I try to leap and get discouraged. Thank you WOUBBIE! emoticon Your goals put my steps into perspective! I need to write them down to reflect!

Hi Woubbie! I've never been a goal-setter but you are giving me great inspiration. I'm new to the Low Carb team so I will join one of those goals to start with.

I have also been a Flyer for many moons, so I appreciate those reminders!

Have a wonderful day!

Jeanie

I like that you stayed with realistic goals.... my main burn out is doing everything to the extreme and then having nothing left to devote to it! Good luck in july

Great goals! You already have me beat - I'm a wimp. 10 lb weights are a wee bit heavy for me.

Floor pushups are still going to take me some time due to my wrist special needs. Those contour bars are kicking my butt! Sticking to wall pushups for now.

I think actually setting real goals is remarkable. I have a hard time setting them and then even harder remembering that I set goals, let alone remembering what they were. THEN staying focused on them. WOW - again - you are remarkable. BRAVO and keep up the great work. It IS work, isn't it? Looking forward to the days when it's all easier.
