Of all the songs to have stuck in my head, but it was playing on the radio earlier. Sometimes I totally listen to song written since 2000, just very rarely.

I went running today, and did 2.8 miles in about 27 minutes, which means I'm easily on track to hit 29:59 or better for the 5K next Sunday! Just doing easy runs all week and careful weights.

On the other hand, Friday for dinner my husband took me "in" to dinner, meaning that we ate at home, but got grocery store pre-made food so we didn't have to cook. However, it was definitely higher calorie than usual. Whoops. I've been trying to be much better since then. We'll see if it pays off tomorrow.

Today instead of regular church service, we essentially had a poetry circle. I read my favorite A.A. Milne poem Halfway Down. Yeah, my poetry level is Winnie the Pooh. I'm okay with that. I also made a new connection to a local science professor at another nearby school, so that's awesome! She's a woman interested in women-in-science stuff and teaching pedagogy, woot!

Food: there's lots of fabulous food from local farmer's markets in my fridge, so I just need to eat that instead of junk food. I can do it! Then, I need to eat good foods at both the 4th of July BBQ I'm going to AND the BBQ I'm holding Sunday after the race. Mine should be good because I won't make junk. The other one, well, I'm planning to bring homemade half-sour pickles and balsamic green beans, so hopefully that will help.

Exercise: I've really taken the weekend off except for today's run! However, my week's have been packed with gym time and walking and running, this will be no exception, so I think I'm good. Running Wednesday and Saturday before the race, but making them easy runs.

Sleep: On and off. I'm ready to roll this week without screwing up, but I may or may not have another slight sore throat, so no guarantees. I may force myself up, and then allow myself to nap extra if needed. That works better anyway.

Other: My leftover to-do list for tonight is not as bad as I thought it might be. I've made a chunk of my list for this week, so I'm ready for some serious productivity! I'm only teaching one class this week, and it's tomorrow, so that should help by giving me extra time. However, 4th of July BBQs eat time. Gotta stay motivated and get things done.

Okay, now to go have strawberries and cream for probably the last time before the last of the strawberries. At least it will be raspberry season now!

    I think you're doing pretty darn good! Keep up what you've been doing and keep reviewing your progress to know where to try working harder.

  I love how your categorize different parts of your blog. I think I'm going to borrow that idea to help me stay on track. I'm sure you'll do amazing in the 5K, good luck!
