Fear is powerful. Fear has the ability to make us do things we may not want to do. When we are afraid of something or someone, we may feel forced to do something we don’t want to do. When we are afraid of how others will react, we may do things they want us to rather than what we should do. However, we should only fear God. He has all the power we need and when we obey Him rather than try to please others, He will help us overcome our fears and live for Him.
Isaiah 35:4 “Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, help us to understand we do not need to fear anything or anyone on this earth. Help us only fear You because of Your power and what You can do. Help us to be in awe of Your wonderful love and grace. Help us, when we are afraid, to completely depend on You knowing You will help us, protect us and save us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
