July should be a little calmer!

Sunday, July 01, 2012

June started off with me recovering from surgery (appendectomy) and got crazier from there! Work was really busy--vendor visits, boss in town, business trip to San Francisco for a few days. Home life was busy, too--College World Series, Olympic swim trials, start of the CSA (community supported agriculture) program, endless social events! I was thrilled to turn the calendar to July and see almost nothing on it!

Now that I've recovered from surgery, I am completely refocused on my fitness. My running has not been consistent for the last year or so due to knee and foot issues. I am seeing a LMT who specializes in active isolated stretching and I think I'm benefiting more from that than I did the physical therapy for plantar faciaitis. My running is better and I'm committing to more consistent strength training, too.

With the start of the CSA program (first time hubby and I have participated), we've got a lot of veggies in the house, which is GREAT. I'm finding it easier to eat better when the fridge runneth over with fresh produce!

I have maintained my no-soda streak. I haven't had any soda (diet or regular) since February--Fat Tuesday to be exact! YAY!

I feel like I'm back on track. That said, I would welcome any and all encouragement and would love to have some accountability partners! Feel free to check in and hold me accountable any time!!!!!

I hope all of you have a safe, fun, and happy 4th of July!

That is awesome about the CSA. My stepdaughter is the head farmer at one in Ohio, where we are right now. Wow! The veggies in this house are awesome. And I've tried a few veggies I never even heard of.

Congrats on all your accomplishments. How did you give up pop? I still drink diet and always think that I should give it up but haven't. I don't drink coffee so I consider it my equivalent.
