I made some good choices today and pretty much stuck to my meal plan. Yeah! My "treat" today was a Starbucks iced green tea with two splenda.
For July I am going to focus on weekly meal planning and grocery shopping to ensure I have healthy options on hand. I planned out all of next week's meals today, printed my shopping list and picked up most of the groceries I will need. I will need to get some additional fresh fruit and vegetables later in the week.
There is a bowl of fresh fruit on my counter, fresh vegetables, a watermelon and salad greens in the fridge. I also grilled some extra chicken breast for salads, chicken tacos, or pasta dishes this week. I portioned out individual servings of wheat crackers, carrots, hummus, etc... to make it easier to pack lunches and snacks for work.
I posted my meal plan on the fridge as a visual reminder and to answer the daily "What is for dinner" question that I get from the kids. I am hoping that this will eliminate the last minute drive-thru or picking up pizza.
Now on to my exercise plan - I will walk for 20 minutes during lunch 3x's a week. I packed a pair of tennis shoes, socks, and t-shirts to leave at my desk so that I would have no excuse.
