Back to Maine in the morning. I am hoping that both Grands want to go with us.

Saturday, June 30, 2012

I really want them to but GS is 14 now and he has friends close by. I am certain that DGD will be with us she loves to be with me. I wish our GS had a Maine fishing license but even with that neither DH or I fish. We will take it all one day at a time. I have had a nice visit. It was way too short but the object is to keep me happy and they always make me happy. Our DIL and son have very little time together and I want them to have bit of a breather, they have both been stressed out and neither of them is in the best shape. I wish I could influence them more. I do teach the children good nutrition and I did with all of our sons. I know they are both stress eaters, I hope it will be a nice break for them and a joy for me and DH.
Off to bed we need an early start. Thanks Spark Friends you keep me going .

I believe once a child reached the pre-teens its not cool to be seen with Parent nor Grandparents. Hang on to your GD while she's still young enough to appreciate your love, and the things that you do with her.

You are great mother and grandmother, Pat. I hope that things work out the way you want because I know your reasons for doing things a certain way are sound. Your grandkids need time with you and your hubby and your son and DIL need time alone.

I do hope they both decide to make the trip.

When they get to be teens, things change.

Glad you had a good visit. Do have a safe trip home.

Sunny

Hi Pat- I checked in today after months away, have not been keeping up on everyone's blogs. Hope you and DH are in good health. I wrote a blog today with some photos, very busy with my photography. Hope you have both grandkids with you again this summer, and certainly will have your grandaughter to keep you company and continue her lessons in sewing and cooking. That is what I remember best about my grandmother, her wonderful food and her sewing, and her cutwork embroidered linens and tatted lace edged hankies that I still have.

We have our three grandsons with us this weekend, till Tuesday. Their Mom, our oldest daughter, will come down on Monday...we go out to celebrate her Birthday (today 7/1) and then they will leave on Tuesday morning.

Glad your trip to was safe, and safe travel back to Maine. Hope to that your GS + GD opt to go with you.

We have limited time with ours, and know that as they get older, it will be even more limited!

Too bad GS cannot claim to be Maine resident since age for needing a fishing license is 16. I wonder if they would really fine him if he was with his Grandparents who were Maine residents. I hope he decides to go with you. I am sure he will have a good time if he does. It is hard to get teenagers to go away from friends, but it is good for them. I remember having to drag my 16 year old son off to Fl. for a spring break trip with our family. He sulked for the first day and a half, but then had a great time. Glad to hear you will have some computer help. emoticon
