First Weigh-in for the Summer Challenge

Oh, that nasty scale. I weighed in this morning and found that I weighed almost the same as I did a week ago. For a brief moment, I let disappoinment wash over me, an ocean of negativity waiting to drown me. BUT --

But I didn't let it get to me.

But I thought instead about the great habits I've set up during the first week of the challenge.

1. Tracking everything I ate.
2. Taking a walk every time my daughter has her one-hour art class.
3. Pushing myself to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day.
4. Pushing to hit 1000 finess minutes, which I WILL accomplish after an evening walk tonight. (Hooray!)

So if I did all this, why didn't I lose any weight? Well...I ate. I ate a lot. I'm pretty sure I've had ice cream, chocolate, or potato chips every day this week. I went over my calorie limits often -- hey, but at least I tracked it!

This week, the Challenge goal is staying within calorie limits. The petulant child inside me is already squirming and devising ways to sneak in treats without tracking. But no, honesty is key. And I've got a team to support.

Goal for the Week: Track everything AND stay within calorie limits.

    Don't forget, the scale's the least important measure of our progress that we have. The scale doesn't tell us how much energy have, how strong we are, how fit we are, how far we can run, or how happy we are. It doesn't tell us how our jeans fit, or how we breathe going up a flight of stairs.

    How do you feel, compared to last week?

    I stayed the same as last week for many of the same reasons you listed. emoticon You have set up a great plan and continuing to track will really help meet those goals. You are a motivated and determined person and I know you can do it. I'm sure you are going to see some good results for the coming week.
