Cookie Cake with Bacon and Indian Buffet

Saturday, June 30, 2012

A friend who had moved back east came for a visit so we met for brunch. Since I hadn't baked a cake for my BFF's birthday in May, I made it and brought along today so there would be more people to eat it.
She wanted the cookie cake...pans from Williams Sonoma. I used their recipe but made it gluten free. I put some frosting and bacon between the layers.

Here is the finished cake.

I did will at the buffet. Just one plate.

Your cake certainly looks gorgeous! I don't really get the bacon and baked goods fad happening now though... Does it really taste good?

Yeah, I know that cake.....I absolutely love those pans. Thanks for heading me in that direction. I still need to get that bundt pan I'm lusting after. What did you use for frosting? I always cheat and buy buttercream from our local bakery. I made the cake for church a couple weeks ago and garnished with mini oreos. It was a huge hit with the kids. Hope you had a wonderful visit with your friend.
