I live in Colorado. In Colorado there are mountains. Duh. Lots of them as a matter of fact. And for those whose peak reaches over 14,000 ft we call them '14ers' and aim to conquer them. There are over 50 peaks reaching past this height in the state. I have climbed one. Mt Bierstadt, 14,060 ft. Part of the Front Range (closest range to where I live). Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I will be waking up to hike Grays Peak (14,270') and Torreys Peak (14,267'). Yes. Two of them. They are side by side, connected by a hikeable saddle. It will be a long day. I will be exhausted. And its going to be amazing. There will be pictures.
I spent my morning today relaxing as much as possible by the pool. Got in some laps and other exercise at the pool, and the best part is that no one was there. It was so warm I spent over an hour and a half there before noon. Now that I've relaxed, I'm spending my afternoon prepping for our camping/hiking trip. Getting food together. Lots of it. I'll eat close to double what I usually do while hiking, since its so strenuous. For this reason, and the fact that I'll be burning HUNDREDS of calories, I am not tracking my food tomorrow. I will just listen to my body cues. Need to finish packing up camping gear, make some pancakes, and take a shower. Getting excited!
I hope everyone else has a great weekend, whether its full of relaxation or climbing the proverbial mountain!
