Keeping Up My Sparky Gung Ho Positive Attitude

It's been very slow at work. But, I have been floating to the med/surg floors as a patient care tech. I've also floated to another hospital to work in their mom/baby unit. Some jobs have been eliminated. I'm holding on by being flexible and going with the flow. We will move to a temporary unit in January, while they build the new women's obstetrical center. The birth rate is down. Also, we are going to be on one floor and less staff will be needed. I've been fighting off fear and depression. Spark people has helped me immensely.
My Dad is very sick now. He's in the nursing home part of my parent's retirement community. Mom eats lunch and dinner with him most every day. He's got short term memory loss, seizures, tremors, and difficulty walking without assistance. He's getting great care, including occupational and physical therapy. Mom gave up her car. She's still able to live in an independent apartment.
Working on the medical/surgical floors has made me realize that there are people much sicker than my disabled husband. He has congestive heart failure, copd, and a head injury. But, he does pretty well, all things considered.
I had some post-menopausal spotting. I got it checked out. My pap smear and trans-vaginal ultrasound were normal. I was relieved. I have two aunts that had ovarian cancer, so I was a little worried.
