this has been such a strange week. my juice cleanse didn't really go the way i wanted - my husband kept drinking all the juice, and i found myself cheating. i think this would be easier if my lifestyle (and now my job!) didn't basically keep me at home in front of the computer all day. if i didn't have all the options i my refrigerator, i would have been better about sticking with the juice and smoothies. don't get me wrong, it was definitely the majority of my diet, but i don't think i did any full days where all i consumed was juice. oh well. would definitely help if my husband wasn't such a bad influence - he eats so much crap but since he is training so hard for his ironman, he still loses weight. it drives me crazy.

my fitbit still hasn't come. since i haven't been eating normally this week i haven't been exercising as much as usual - lots of walking and some yoga, but nothing else. need to get back on track, especially since i have two 5ks next week. it's raining today but hopefully i can go for a run if it lightens up - i definitely need to do a few runs this weekend before my first race on tuesday evening.

getting into my new job, which is great - i'm really loving the assignments my boss is giving me, and i'm looking forward to some interviews and restaurants that i'll be reviewing. hoping that my new food writing job doesn't hurt the progress that i've made - my scale still doesn't budge but i know i've lost a few inches, and i really don't want to gain them back.

really wish the scale would move. and by move, i mean that the numbers would go DOWN. it's pretty discouraging to me, in spite of all the pep talks and reminders that the scale isn't important. i've been at this for months and have literally lost 2 pounds. grrrr.

Hey, your restaurant reviews could take a new twist with mention of healthy related reviews for more people like us. Maybe mention serving size, availability of local produce, etc.
It sounds like you are actually doing really well with keeping it all real - healthy lifestyle with the yoga and 5K's and a husband who - regardless of his eating habits - is also training.
Have a great weekend!

Thank you for being transparent to let us know how you are really doing. You can do it...just take one hour at a time, one day at a time, one meal at a time! Have a great weekend!

Just keep up the hard work - it will pay off. I just stopped by to see how you are doing. Glad you like your new job. I lose slowly too - I'm hoping that one morning I wake up and I have a substantial loss :) emoticon

It's frustrating when the scale doesn't show all your hard work even if your clothes are fitting better. Keep trying! I found removing unnecessary sugars from my regular diet helped. I don't get all the sugars out but I cut them way back.
