Manual Wheelchair Sent Back :(

Hi All,

I'm asking for prayer, this past year I have been dealing with a company that is beginning to give me fits :( The chair I was promised 8 months ago has not lived up to my expectations. For some reason they can't get the chair back to work, it is a custom fit back that is supposed to support my spine's needs, it is a chair back that comes off when transporting, it is supposed to come off easy and go on the same way, NOT..That's for sure...

Each time I get the chair back it would work for about 2 weeks sometimes not even a day, once the back was removed to fold chair for transport it would not go back together again due to the alignment going completely off. Talk about frustration, my rehab specialist and the technician both said in all there years of dealing with custom made chairs mine has been the worst yet for not working. None of us can figure out why the chair back is not doing what it's supposed to be doing...Not good eh...

Anyway after numerous times these past several months of the chair going back and forth to be repaired/adjusted and returned to me the chair came back at Noon and when the tech was giving me a demonstration on how well it was supposed to work, it basically fell apart after the 3rd try...It worked 2 times and we thought we were finally home free, but the 3rd try is when it stopped working, it wouldn't go back on, you should of seen the techs face, anyway he in frustration said he'd have to take it back again to the shop...He said he is ordering another new chair back and is hoping it works this time, if not, we are going to order a different model...I think you can sense my dilemma, not only that I'm beginning to think this is an attack...So I sure need prayer, thanks in advance...

In the meantime I'm with an old chair that is far too big for me, and to top it off it has next to no support and it is most uncomfortable :(

  I am praying that they get your chair fixed for good or that they replace the chair, "with a quickness. It's no fun to not be able to be mobile let alone hurting. I pray that God gives you physical comfort I look forward to heaven when there will be no more suffering. God Bless you!

    Praying for you. I have a Hoveround that when first put together, it wasn't done right, and I nearly had my leg severed because the joy stick was misplaced and I couldn't turn it off in time. As a result I had 20 stitches in my leg. I forbid Hoveround from ever sending that tech to me again. When I worked for UCP, the clients constantly had w/c problems. Friends of mine even now, are missing their chairs for months on end bec the companies don't seem to be able to do what is needed by the w/c users in a timely fashion. Even the people who work in handicapped service industries don't seem to have the interest that is required by a special needs population. I hope and pray it will go well for you this time with the Lord's intervention. emoticon emoticon

    Jesus I lift Judith up before your Throne of Grace and ask that You plz help Judith to get a chair that works. Lord it is hard on the body when it isn't getting the support it needs from the equipment that is suppose to help the back. Jesus I pray that the chair situation will clear up very quickly without any more annoyance to Judith. In Your Name Jesus I pray this Amen.
Grrrrrrrrrr - Judith when things don't work right. At least the Tech is hearing you.

    so sorry to hear that you are having problems with that chair. They can be real frustrating to get working and that is not the ones that are custom fit. I know that this one that you have must of cost allot because it is a custom fit. Will pray that they get it right for you.

    Sounds like you'd have better luck with a different chair altogether. Hope you get the support you need.

    Judith, I'm so sorry to hear of the problems you are having with your chair. It must be so frustrating. It is understandable why you are so tired and sore. I am praying that you will get the chair you require to help support your back. God bless you. Have a good night's rest.

    sounds like you definitely need a new chair back....and a different one....will keep you in my prayers that the next one works and continues to work. I know that has to be really frustrating. emoticon
