So participated in tri # 3 last night. Had a great one- improving again on my time. We had 30 people show this week- and I finished 2nd for women and 11th overall.
Swim- 6:16 .25 mile swim- 2nd overall-improved time by 28 seconds
Bike- 31:52- 9.5 miles -8 th overall- improved time by 1 minute
Run- 15:37- 2 miles- 5th overall- improved time by 3 seconds
So finished 56:15 - better than previous best of 57:35. WOOO!
Happy with the effort. I had a couple mishaps in the swim- one guy swam on top of me briefly-then on the bike- I thought I put my helmet on backwards so I took it off and quickly put back on-turns out that made it wrong. D'OH! I had to put back and wear unbuckled. Big no no! Managed to ride conservatively that first loop. For the swim to bike transition as I was second place, but took2 minutes to get to the bike so 2 guys started before I did. I was caught by amother 3 guys who were AWESOME cyclists, then one more half way through. I was able to get my helmet on- I had to STOP and buckle, so lost precious time there. One more person caught me- a lady. We then proceeded to BATTLE the entire second 4 mile loop. Back and forth. Fun! I held her off into the final transition to the run. She is a true cyclist- had the clip on pedals, so she lost time- switching gears and shoes, and all of that. I just took helmet off, and was off- 20 seconds. I managed to lose her as I ran a decent 15:37 BUT a member of my running club who easily runs a 5k under 17 minutes- caught me with .25 miles left on my two mile run. DAMN! Oh well. I held everyone else off and finished under an hour. WOOO! We had a gathering after. Ate smart- ONE slice of pizza, ONE light beer. That was it. Weight still at 155.6! YES! Today MAY run= easy. Friday swimmming 1.2 miles. Sunday swimming and cylcing. Here's to a great day!
