Couch to 5k

After starting a little too fast in February, and getting a painful set of shin splints, I may be wiser. Let's hope! I started the Couch to 5k program this week hoping that I would be able to gradually increase my strength and the stress I am placing on my already overloaded joints and muscles without causing another injury.
I tend to be the sort of person that jumps in with both feet and I have high expectations for myself. Sometimes I set these expectations too high! I feel like I could keep running, but the next day I know I pushed too hard. I am hoping that this program will be a good fit for my current fitness level and I will be able to use my exercise as motivation to be more careful about my nutrition!
I would love to run another half-marathon someday, but for now, I must stay focused on my current goals and try not to push myself back to the sidelines!
