HELP! I! NEED! MEAT!

emoticon emoticon emoticon This is my 3rd day incorporating the "Eat to Live" book by: Dr. Fuhrman, into my life. I am so not doing well at the moment. I am full, and not really at the point to where I am hungry. But, I want some MEAT! This craving is so bad, my mouth is watering. emoticon

I just want to go to the fridge and pull out a hot dog and eat it, standing right there in the middle of the kitchen!!! What can I do to stop this craving? This is only my 3rd day out, I know that I have a long way to go....Help emoticon emoticon

    I'm on the Eat to live plan. You can have small amounts of meat! I have red meat or chicken or fish once a week to kill the craving... remember your portion size...

YOU CAN HAVE SOME MEAT GURL U JUST NEED TO SPACE YOUR FEEDINGS APART AND YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON EATING ONLY REAL CUTS (NOT PROCESSED OR SAUSAGED) MEATS. BY THAT I SIMPLY MEAN CUTS OF MEAT DIRECTLY TAKEN FROM THE ANIMAL ITSELF FROM LEAN MEAT SOURCES LIKE TURKEY, CHICKEN, FISH, ETC.     Thanks guy's! My aunt pretty much said the same things, she also told me to consider eating veggie burgers! I never even thought of that! I guess I will have to go shopping again! Thanks! emoticon

    Here is what I did when I started my vegan lifestyle. First get rid of all the meat in your house if you can. Then go get some veggie burgers, or other vegetarian meats from the store and have plenty on hand. I found that most of the cravings went away within a few weeks but having the vegetarian versions of meat on hand I could mentally feel like I was having meat until the cravings went away.

    So have a bit of quality meat. Some people benefit from some in their diet. -- From what I read of "Eat to Live" ...dairy & meat can be included in the 10%.

On the other hand...this could also be like any other "forbidden" item for just the idea of not being able to have something causes you to want it twice as bad.

You decide. Ultimately, in my opinion, you have to choose what you can live with for the long term LIFESTYLE. Give yourself a "learning curve"...take it a step at a time. You will be the winner in the long run!!
