Fort Vancouver Washington 10K Volksmarch

Our last walk in the Northwest was the YRE that the included Fort Vancouver. I got a mural stamp for this event with this.

The walk included Esther Short Park, the old Carnegie Library which is now a museum and a historic church. We walked through the Clark College Campus and then onto Fort Vancouver which was a replica of the original that the French had built. It was also an army base for the US Army doing the Spanish American War, World Wars I and II. Officers Row was still intact from the US Army era. This is the Marshall House.

It was also home to Pearson Airfield where the first flight over the North Pole landed when it had engine trouble. This is the memorial

We paid the entry fee to get inside the "old" Fort Vancouver. Very interesting. This is from the post hospital.

Did you eat at Grant House? When we used to participate in the Discovery Walks, we would stop during the Friday walk and make reservations for Saturday. Love Vancouver.
