RIP Alexander "Alex" the Kitty 1997-2012

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Alex crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. Chuck and I were both with him toward the end. Chuck had to go to work and I was going stay home with Alex until he passed. But he passed about 20 mins before I had to leave for work. It's been tough. Tears off and on. I called my daughter to tell her. Alex was her cat up until he moved to Las Vegas with me in 2001. She was upset also.

Alex was a talker. You could almost hold a conversation with him at times. And he LOVED to eat. Chuck spoiled him when they met by giving him wet can food. Up until Chuck came along Alex only had dry food. It was love at first site of the can for Alex and Chuck. Alex use to sleep on Chuck's chest. No a small feat for a 22 pound cat! And he HATED to travel ANY where! He would show his displeasure by messing in his carrier. And he would complain the whole way!

We he came to Vegas it was a Delta flight from Portland. I gave him the good drugs the Vet gave me. The vet said to have him travel in the baggage area. Boy..did Alex HATE that. The baggage offload was a floor below the baggage claim here in Vegas and you could hear Alex complaining all the way from the offload area. And up the escalator, in the elevator..to the car..all the way to our new home. He was pissed for DAYS after that! But in time he came to love it here and his new "brother" Stinky. When Stinky would let him get close.

Alex was lost when Stinky passed (old age). We got Myles a week after Stinky left us. Alex never really took to Myles. But the last couple of days he let Myles get closer. I think both kitty's knew what was happening.

So my sweet baby kitty is gone..passed over the Rainbow Bridge and is playing with Stinky in a bit patch of cat nip. He'll be missed. He was my baby kitty.

Alex will be laid to rest tonight, next to Stinky, under a rose bush in the back yard. We'll never forget him and always love him. SO RIP Alexander "Alex" the Kitty.
