Hello, Fellow Sparkies!

I hope everyone is doing well! On Father's Day, we took my DH to see Madagascar III in 3D.
It was a great "feel good" family flick. We were planning a bike ride later on, but unfortunately, it was too hot to take a bike ride that day.

It has been a hectic few weeks. I'm thankfully feeling back to normal after a weekend of the dreaded stomach flu! Blech! I felt terrible not being able to eat properly or get moving at all. But, I did manage to log on to SP during those days to cheer me up. I joined more groups & I even signed up for a 1 mile virtual run next month. This is week 7 of Couch to 5K training for me. I can't believe the progress I have made in these last few weeks. Jogging/running for 20-25 minutes straight is attainable for me because I am going at my own pace & from all the amazing support I get on SP. After yesterday's run, I felt on top of the world. :) Last night, I even wore my workout clothes to bed, so I would just get up & go on my W7/D2 run.

5 AM this morning. Different story. DID NOT want to get up...pressed snooze 3 times. I read a few pages of my new book, "THE SPARK" :) in hopes it would motivate me to get moving. That got me out of bed. As I logged in this AM, the blog photo flashed of a woman running with her dog that read: "Think of how good you'll feel when you're done." *Click!!!!* I warmed up, stretched & hit the pavement. Woo-hoo! Day 2 of week 7- DONE! And I did feel WONDERFUL & de-stressed! I love you, SP!!!

In the last 2 weeks, I received 2 new books: The "SP Cookbook" & as I mentioned above, "The Spark." After glancing through both, along with logging in everday, FAILURE is not an option.
I know too much (& learning more each day) to just give up on my health & well being. Small changes in my lifestyle adds up to big results. The support from SP all around is unbelieveable. I am so happy to belong to the SP community.
I am looking forward to diving into each book & watch my own success story unfold. :)

As always, thank you for the encouraging comments, adds & likes! So until next time, MOVE IT, MOVE IT!!!! emoticon

Thanks, Nat & Jeff!!! Looking forward to week 8. Nat, thank you for your concern. I really appreciate it. Oh, & this weekend I'm planning to make a couple of the salad recipes for a cook out.

Jeff, thanks so much for the spark goodie! You 2 are the BEST. Cheers to the weekend! emoticon emoticon

You have to love those 5:00AM moments where you refuse to listen to that little voice in your head! We all have that voice "Stay in bed, you do not have to work out today" or "Go ahead and eat that second helping, what can it hurt." Somehow you mustered the strength to follow through with your plan. It's those little moments that are major victories.

Glad you are feeling better too. It's no fun being sick.

I'm glad you are over the flu...yuck!!
I think it would have been best if you hadn't run this morning. It is good to have a rest day (from running) in between. Good job getting your workout, though...just be careful.
You are reminding me that I should actually use the SP cookbook ;-)
