I have not been blogging very much, which is too bad because I do better when I blog more. I suppose it keeps me focused. In any case, I have been putting a lot more effort into taking classes at the gym. Last night I warmed up on the treadmill and then went to Ballet Burn followed by Zumba. Zumba was very fun and fast paced. I was mentally thanking Richard Simmons the whole time because I was able to follow along so well because of Sweatin' to the Oldies, which I used to work out to back in 1993/94.
Right now I am managing to make it to 2-3 classes per week. The ballet class is a combo of ballet and Pilates moves. I also went to a Pilates class about a week ago, which was really awesome. Based on the fitness calculator Pilates does not burn very many calories, but I am doing it more to help tone and shape my body. I have always had a lot of success with doing cardio for fat loss but unfortunately I am always left with rather flabby legs. I have my fingers crossed that these strength-based classes will make my legs more shapely. I know that they will probably not reduce the amount of fat they hold onto, but I am hoping it will be spread out nicer. A girl can dream. I would really like a sexy mid-section and toned legs. I would really really like to wear shorts without the middle riding up into my crotch, and to lose my self consciousness.
So I am going to keep plugging away at these classes and keep running and walking, and hopefully, by the time I move to Florida, I will have sexy, shapely legs that I can show off.
