Ear Infection

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

The last week hasn't been fun at all. I had to go to emergency last Monday morning, wait over and hour for a doctor, then have him send me home with an antibiotic for a mild ear infection. By Wednesday my ear infection was way worse, I had a constant pain going to my jaw. I made a doctors appoitment with my family doctor, and I got in pretty much right away. He was suprised to see how bad my ear infection was. It turns out I was misdiagnosed at the emergency room. I actually had an external ear infection that had gone all the way to my ear drum. OUCH! The doc put me on some pretty heavy antibiotics and ear drops. Within 2 days I was feeling way better.

Finally yesterday I could get back to my normal routine, I went to physio yesterday morning. It was hard to get back into it, but I felt great when I was done! Today I went for an awesome walk with my dog, we went up a hill I have not gone up since before surgery, then I came home and cut the lawn. I am so happy to be feeling better and getting back to normal life. I hope to never have an ear infection again!!!

Glad to hear you are doing better! That sounds like a very not fun situation. I get external ear infections in my ears because I have eczema in my ear canals, so I can sympathize, but I have never had it get THAT bad.

What a terrible experience! So sorry you had to get worse before you got better--but glad you ARE feeling better now!

I am SO happy to hear that it was diagnosed properly and being treated well AND that it is behind you. What a horrible experience and set back. It's frightening to think what it could have become or done. the rest of your summer will be Fabulous!!
