This is what I did on Saturday afternoon - I spent 3 super hours with a bunch of super ladies. First 1 hour of Zumba, then 1 hour of yoga and then, tea and cakes! (How very English!)
And all for a good cause: McMillan Cancer Research.
It was a fab afternoon: the atmosphere was great and everyone had fun.
However, as I'd not done any "intense" yoga for a while, the muscles in my lower stomach are now aching like mad!!
When my ex and I first got separated, I decided to join a yoga class to 1) get myself out of the house and 2) distract me from the pain of separation and accompanying thoughts for a while.
I ended up falling in love with yoga and took classes for 3 years, with a brilliant teacher called Louise (the lady with the Union Flag shorts on the photos). I got really quite good at it.
Unfortunately, I could only go to class Monday nights and once Louise stopped this class altogether, I had to stop yoga as it was the only night I could go (but then reconnected with dancing.)
Anyway, doing yoga again with Louise during the charity afternoon did make me want to get back into yoga more seriously. Unfortunately, any of the classes run by Louise are not convenient for me to go to, but I've asked her if she could recommend some good DVDs so I can start yoga again at home until I can find a class I can go to (although, I don't really know if I want to do yoga with any other teacher than Louise.)
As I have stopped dancing for the moment (I still owe you a blog about what pushed me to make that decision), it would be great if I could find a class on the Monday night whilst my son is spending the night as his dad's. Mmmmmm, watch this space.
Here are a few pictures from the charity Zumba/Yoga afternoon:
