Body Scan- you may have already seen this on SP

Monday, June 25, 2012

You might have already come across this picture and info on another Spark Blog or elsewhere. I know the first time I saw it- it was on another SP blog, but I had to seek it out again...it speaks to me so loudly...while I was working on losing my excess weight and now that I am working to maintain everything that I have gained for myself. This is a body scan image comparing the body of a 250 pound woman with that of a 120 pound woman. Notice especially the crowding of the organs and the strain on the joints. The alignment of the knees and ankles is dramatically altered by the excess body weight.

The first time I saw this image, I thought to myself, "that is what I could easily look like inside! What have I allowed to happen?" (I was 248 at my heaviest) I had to change it! That image has remained with me, and helped to motivate me to change how I treat my body. Now it gives me another visible reason to keep what I have worked so hard to achieve.
Here is a link to more info...there are several places on the web that have this posted.

This is a great visual. Also notice what a funny position the arms are in to go around the body. Arms should hang down from the shoulder, not have to be bent around the torso.

Thanks! It is good to see what we are trying to accomplish. emoticon

Thanks for sharing this. I hadn't seen it before. I recently had a hysterectomy and this was something I saw in numerous CT scans and ultrasound tests.
