The gangsta rapper in me is really excited about the 187.
We FINALLY got the internet back up today. I finally had something INTERESTING to blog about - my 6.5 mile run - and then it went out.
So, on Friday, I ran 6.5 miles. It wasn't too hot (it was only in the 80's that day), and my back didn't hurt. There are deerfly's out now, which are annoying, but otherwise it's fine. I ran a 10K a full 5 minutes faster than the last time I ran one a week earlier (I checked at 6.2). I finished my 6.5 miles in less time than the 6.2 I did last week - I was feeling very good. I finished my 6.5 miles listening to a great song, and I was so elated and a little overcome with emotion. I was feeling great! I was at 6.49, my Jeep was right there, and I was going to be done!
Then I heard bike tires behind me, and I jumped out of the way, but - I got hit by a bike! I immediately thought it would be some dumb kid, and said "What the hell, dude!?" and turned around and there was like a 50 year old man standing there. He said "Uh, sorry!" like he was absolutely surprised that I was going to be there. I mean, seriously, how do you run into someone FROM BEHIND? You didn't notice the big pink shirt!? Are you blind!? Are you stupid? Are you from Adrian!?!?
And then he rode away. I looked down at my watch and it said 6.5, so I hit stop and limped to my car cursing him "Stupid son of a bitch!" for taking the wind out of my running sails. Oh well - I had ran 6.5 miles. I passed him on my drive home, and considered running into the back of him with my Jeep, but decided to just let the idiot kill his own damn self by not watching where the hell he's going.
I had tire tread marks on my leg when I got home, so Airin was pissed off. I think he was mad for me!
Then I went to a chiropractor appointment that day at 3. It turns out she is a runner, and so she was amused that I was complaining of back pain, but running anyway. And that I had been "mowed down" that morning, and she is very nice. She said that there is some muscle tightness and spasms in my lower back, toward the left. I don't know if that's entirely it though - I feel like I've been so injured and compensating for so long that my core is really weak. But I can't exercise my abs very well because my back hurts. So it's a downward spiral of suckiness.
My sister-in-law was in town this weekend, and that was fun. She and I took a 3.75 mile walk yesterday on the trail. She mutters little passive-aggressive comments sometimes, and that makes me want to smack the crap out of her, but I don't. I may have to tell her to STFU sometime.
Today I ran 4 miles, and it was in the 60's! Oh, it was HEAVEN! And my back didn't hurt. I ran 12 minute miles, and that's with a couple walk-breaks. I finished strong, too. Oh, and while I was out running... I got bit by a dog! It seems like everyone is out to get me! Hill repeats a couple weeks ago, and some guy is trying to drive into me with his car. Then I get hit by a bike. Today I get bit by a dog. It didn't break the skin, so I kept on going. It didn't really hurt, it just pissed me off.
I have another appointment with the chiropractor in 13 minutes, so time to go. I also want to get some pandora beads. I've earned another $111.23! Too bad I still have to PAY for them. I should get them for free. ;)
