I got my Week 3, Day 1 of the C25K running program completed despite the Tropical Storm Debby trying to thwart me! I am so proud of myself. One of my biggest hurdles is using excuses to not do what I should do. I could have easily justified skipping my running training today because it is actually dangerous to be outside under the current conditions, I do not have a treadmill, and do not have access to a gym or indoor track.
However, I said to myself, "Self, You can still walk & jog around the inside of the house, even if I spend a lot of time going in one place!" ... That's what I did! I strapped on my heart rate monitor and put on my headphones, started up the Week 3 podcast and off I went. It was actually FUN too. Instead of just walking in place in between the run intervals I was dancing =) I kept my heart rate up quite nicely. It was easier than running outdoors with the heat, uneven ground, inclines, but it was most definitely better than had I chosen to do nothing.
This is a victory for me =)
I *WILL* complete this C25K training program! And I *WILL* be able to run!
