Yup, over the past week, for some reason or another I have not been eating any salads. Not sure why some days, but there are the days where my plans for the day have changed because of being out with others longer than expected. That, or eating at someones home instead of eating what i had in mind. I have for the most part managed to adjust my eating to account for the much higher carb and fat content, and my weight is still going down thankfully.
So for this week I plan to get back totally on track, and start eating salads for at least one of my meals most days of the week. I also need to stop procrastinating and start using the resistance bands that I purchased three weeks ago, so my muscles will start to be toned up rather than soft and mushy. Falcon watch has ended with no rescues needed, which is a good sign for our three boys, hopefully they will grow to maturity and next year be spotted setting up their own nest sites elsewhere. That means that my nice long walk three times a week is also ended, so I will have to make a conscious effort to get out and walk on those day and not find excuses. At least now I won't be lugging aound a packsack with binoculars, lunch, hat, and a camp chair...
Next week is the festival that I go to, and that may make it a bit harder again to do the salads, as there are some raw vegetables which I can no longer eat such as onions or cucumbers. I love them but if I eat even the smallest piece I will suffer severe heartburn, and at times GERD as well, so any salads that have onion in them are a no can do for me! I do plan on keeping track of my meals, although I may not be able to connect to the internet and post here which means my calorie, carbs, fat and protein count will be unknown. Also since I am staff there my breakfast and supper meals are provided, so again, won't have any idea of the calorie count. The couple that put on the festival are also working at losing weight, and so the meals will be somewhat calorie conscious at least with a vegetarian offering at each of the meals. I may request that a bowl of the salads be set aside for me with no onions when possible, cucumbers I can pick out... I truly hope to come home following it with more pounds lost. I head out for it on either saturday or sunday, depending on my ride, and will possibly not be back home until the 11th as I have an appointment where I had my surgery that day. No sense coming all the way back here 2 hrs., and two days later heading back almost all the way for the appointment.
