Last week I talked about mini goals the steps I plan to take to get healthy. For me, it is no longer about being thin, it is about being healthy and feeling good. Over the course of the last 40 years or so, I have discovered what does NOT work for me:
Vegetarian (although I do eat very limited meats)
Wishing it to be true
Feeling Sorry For Myself
Here are a few things that I have discovered do work for me:
Understanding that this is a journey and not a race
Nothing off limits- just finding a healthier (physically and mentally) way to enjoy what I want
Making small changes, one or two at a time, to not overwhelm myself
Focusing on today only- yesterday cannot be changed and tomorrow will take care of itself.
Prayer and the power of positive thinking
Last week I made these goals for myself:
1~ 10 minutes (or more) of activity a day.
2~ No High Fructose Corn Syrup!
Here is how I did:
1~ 10 minutes (or more) of activity a day. ~ I managed this on 4 of the 7 days. I am not counting this as a fail since this is 4X the amount of activity I got the week before.
2~ No High Fructose Corn Syrup! ~ Only slipped on this one once and it was a situation where I was not eating at home so I did not have much control.
Here are my mini goals for this week:
1~ 10 minutes or more of activity a day: I will continue this one until it becomes habit
2~ Pack my lunch every day for work: No lunch out
3~ Get up once an hour from my desk and stretch
How did you do this week?
