Got to Keep that fire burning

Monday, June 25, 2012

I NEED TO REMEMBER...THAT EVERY TIME I BINGE
IT'S LIKE POURING WATER ON A FLAME.
IT TAKES A FEW DAYS TO GET BACK TO HEATING UP MY METABOLISM
TO WHERE IT WAS.

I NEED TO KEEP THAT FLAME GOING
IF I WANT TO BURN OFF ALL THIS EXTRA WEIGHT

Once again ... I went nuts over a bag of peanuts.
Okay so the total damage was still under 2000 calories
but it puts a damper on my progress...and I want to get this done.
Today is a new day...It feels hot and humid already.
That's when I don't want to exercise...so I'll concentrate on Strength Training.

I have plenty of salad fixings and roasted chicken in the fridge.
no excuses there.

I had to separate my dry roasted peanuts into little baggies with 30 pieces in them (170 calories). Otherwise, I would keep eating...

Strength training is so important as we get older, since we lose muscle mass each year if we don't do it! Also, we all know it raises your metabolism. However, I just read in my husband's most recent Men's Health magazine that ST doesn't burn the visceral fat the same way that cardio does. So don't give up on your cardio altogether! :)

Those nuts can be quite alluring. I have often polished off $9 worth of macadamia nuts in a sitting. I could have eaten a ton of healthy food at Ryans's for that.

Don't go "nuts" over one nutty oops! You are in control of getting back on track and have the tools to do it and you WILL!

HUGS and keep that spark burning! You're worth it.

emoticon Keep up the good work. We all slip a little but it's the getting back up and moving forward that counts.

Well it could have been worse. Peanuts are healthy as long as you are not allergic. I have my moments as well. The KEY is they are just MOMENTS. Time to worry is when they become habits.

At least it was on peanuts, and not sugary carbs. You will soon feel better and your metabolism will get back on track.

Last night I had a few bites of a sugary Thai mango salad..absolutely delicious, but I could feel the effects. After dinner I felt like eating more, but I was not hungry.

The heat is not helping. Good luck with strength training today!

Be proud for doing what you've been doing and are continueing to do. I know that picking yourself up and getting back on track after a binge is hard - so good for you for taking care of yourself. Enjoy your ST - and the salad!

Peanuts aren't so bad.... Walnuts and almonds are better, nutrition-wise. The fat in nuts is healthy and your body may have needed it. Don't beat yourself up. If you had eaten a big bag of candy or chips, well then that would be a different story. You are doing great!!!
