IDEBORAH made me do it .....again!

Saturday, June 23, 2012

IDEBORAH sent me a goodie & a not-so-subtle query. She intimated something to the effect of , "I'm looking for you on the wagon...but I don't see you......anywhere!"

OK, OK....Deborah does not "accept" excuses. There is NO valid excuse in her vernacular. She's been motivating me for several years... even while she was AWOL for a while.

So before I could thank her for my the goodie, I knew I had to do some "laps" on The Wagon. So I hiked up the mtn & back down this a.m.-- 6 miles. Saw lots of wildlife prints & scat and heard some breaking of downed timber by wildlife critters in the forest & something in my back slipped a little & cracked while I searching for a way through the barbed wire fence. But the BEST OUTCOME is:

TA-DA......! I hiked 6 miles and broke my 6 weeks of non-activity (except ST) while milking my DH's knee replacement as my "excuse" for inactivity. Deborah wouldn't have believed any of my excuses...none, nada, zilch.

So now I can thank her for the "Miss you" goodie AND for getting me out of my recliner as I watched my patient heal & get stronger as I became weaker & chubbier! I love SP!

Good for Deborah and good for you for getting moving again! I need me a Deborah too. I am focusing in ST and with the recent heat wave, I am working on getting back to more consistent walking. Thanks for letting me know you too are working that way!

Hope that was just a much-needed adjustment to your spine--like I need when I sit in my easy chair too much (every weekend). emoticon

Six miles sounds like a great hike! I so miss my hikes. Must really find a new hiking buddy so I can get back in the groove. Or on the wagon, whatever.

I take it you aren't in the areas affected by the fires, and sure hope it stays that way! Send me a thought next time you're on the trail, so I can feel the glory too!

Wow, way to restart your fitness engine (cardiovascularly speaking). Nice work (you AND Deborah)! I love when my friends directly and lovingly challenge me, even if, at the time, I don't actually realize that I love it. I am plenty adept at finding excuses (for me it is in the area of nutrition rather than exercise). I am glad you hiked and glad you enjoyed it - so, what is on your agenda for tomorrow, fitness wise? You should post it to your status update and we can all (lovingly) hold you to it! PS I am posting my food to the nutrition tracker today, which is my way of kicking my own arse, because I have been eating way more food than I need lately.
