WHAM! Yep, that was reality, knocking me upside the head!

Saturday, June 23, 2012

Now that 5 cats live in my house I find myself at Sam's Club buying supplies much more frequently. Sam's Club is just the best when you need a half-ton of...whatever! I was there last night because we needed more dry food, but while I'm there I decide I might as well get canned food and litter too. I'll need them in 2-4 days anyway.

So I got a second workout yesterday hefting a 20 lb bag of dry cat food, a case of canned cat food, and a 42 lb sack of cat litter into the cart, then out of the cart & into the car. Then again this morning out of the car & into the house. I'm proud that once again (thanks ST) hoisting the 42 lb sack is really no problem. BUT...it is heavy!

Damn that 42 lb sack of cat litter. Why does it have to be SOOOO symbolic? You see, that's a pretty good approximation of the amount of extra weight I'm carrying around right now. And every time I go to Sam's Club, I'm dragging my big fat symbol around. Holy Crap, no wonder I'm tired! You'd think I'd buy a clue and get super busy losing that extra weight.

Maybe I can scrape together enough to at least RENT that clue for a while? Hope I can keep my symbol in mind as I head to the beach for some fun. I'm actually down a few pounds this week, don't want to pull my 'usual' and blow it over the weekend...

That's great you are down a few pounds. Have fun at the beach. I love the beach!!
Consider:
Take a picture of the 42 pound sack of cat litter. Keep it on your phone. Look at it every time you want to "indulge". At least do it while you are at the beach and see if it makes a difference in your food intake. It may be worth a try.
God bless you for having 5 cats in your home. We have one and I am so allergic. It has taken me 5 years !!!! to desensitize myself so I am not taking medicine daily just to be around her. emoticon

All right Linda, it's great to have a visual to help to keep us focused but don't allow yourself too much negative self talk....relax this weekend and remember you are already draining some of that "kitty litter" out a grain or two at a time....hey...another visual....when you go out for a run, picture yourself leaving a trail of litter as you are also getting rid of some of that wt.

You can do it. It will all click again soon. Give yourself a break; this has been quite a year.

I love it when you post these "visuals" on your blog! Tends to make things crystal clear for me.

Have a great weekend!
