So, The Boy and I went to a Rangers baseball game tonight... just the two of us... it was so nice to go out and have a date night together, since often when we do go out we meet up with friends or his sister, who lives with us, is along for the ride as well.
This morning I slept in a little bit (a little after 10), but as soon as I got up I was takin' care of business! In about 2 hours I had a light breakfast, cleaned most of the kitchen, got most of the laundry done, swept off the back patio, drive way, and front outside entry way, mowed about 1/3 of the backyard (until I killed the mower... whoops), and had a healthy lunch.
Afterward, I relaxed a bit and spent some time on the Fitness pinterest board, pinning some motivational quotes, pictures, and workouts... some of the latter which I wrote down into a little notepad so I can do some DIY backyard bootcamps. Still piecing together a more formal schedule, but it'll basically be at least 30 minutes of cardio a day (S, T, Th or M, W, F being a walk/run with the pooch), and then doing different strength workouts.
Finally we got our butts ready and headed out the door to run a couple errands before the game: print tickets, get parking $$$, stock up on drinks and snacks. Luckily, we noticed at the last game we went to that people had some of those small, soft, collapsible coolers with them, and upon some research discovered the ballpark allows you to bring in any food/drink as long as it's in a plastic container (no glass or metal cans) and no alcohol. SWEET!
I got a whole wheat turkey wrap and a single serve bag of baked lays for my dinner, as well as grapes, in-shell sunflower seeds, and a small bag of in-shell peanuts to share with The Boy. Water and diet citrus green tea to drink. SO glad we did that. It's nice to have some ballpark food every now and then, but I felt much better having eaten what I did compared to last time when I was there and had hotdogs and nachos and beer. Even better, we won the game... and it was Fireworks Friday... woot!
Got home and we hung out with the dog outside for a while (I think the lawn mower scared him earlier and he's been timid to go outside), then came in and I prepped my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow, logged them on here, and got ready for bed. Speaking of... it's late and I really should be getting to bed (story of my life!). I'm planning to get up before work (gotta be there at 10a) to get in a workout (probably one of the new ones I wrote down) and eat my breakfast... start the day off strong!
Hope you've each had a GREAT day!
P.S. One of the quotes I really liked on Pinterest said "If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up". TRUTH.
