This broken finger business is driving me insane!
Last Friday I had a follow up with an orthopedic and he confirmed what the Urgent Care doctor said, that I had a chipped bone, but also that I had a slipped ligament.
He gave me a smaller splint:
and said I'll need to wear it for 2-3 weeks, then I'll have to do therapy, and hopefully won't need surgery. I will be so mad if I have to have surgery!!! Please cross your fingers that I won't have to!
So, needless to say, I've been doing all legs, abs, and cardio. It pains me to walk by all of the upper body machines and not be able to use them......because of one little pinky!
I can't do the Yoga, Strength Training, and Bootcamp classes at the gym but I thought I would be able to do Zumba and Turbo Fire. Zumba was a success but Turbo Fire was not. I tried it last night and with all the constant super fast punches, my finger was not feeling good and I was scared I was going to throw it out of alignment or something. I talked to my trainer about it after and she said all the blood rushing to the finger wouldn't be a good thing, either.
I know it's not the end of the world but since I don't know how long the recovery will be and when I'll be able to lift weights/put pressure on it, it seems dire not knowing when I'll be able to work my upper body again! That has always been my favorite body part to work and I'm scared I'm going to lose all of my muscle tone. On the other hand, I'm working my legs really hard now so I'm excited to see how they will look after some time.
My meals this week were simple and delish! Brian batch cooked a bunch of chicken and veggies and I basically ate that for every meal.
Plus, Costco shrimp that I love!
So, that's what's going on with me. What's going on with you?
