Let's play the guess who game again.
Guess who went to the gym at 6am yesterday.
Guess who went to the gym at 5:30 pm yesterday.
Guess who went to the gym at 6am today.
Guess who is going to the gym at 5:30 pm tonight.
Guess who is training with Yoda tomorrow at 8am.
Guess who is going to Lava Hot Springs this weekend.
Guess who is going to have one MAJOR temptation because there are delicious cheese fries at the Lava Hot Springs pool.
Okay, that's enough of Guess Who. We all know that it's me or else I wouldn't be saying anything. I actually feel pretty great despite getting up early and going to the gym twice a day. Although, I did crash at 9:30 last night. I just couldn't keep my eyes open any more.
The one good thing about working out first thing in the morning is that I get to see Yoda for a bit before work while I'm at the gym. I've noticed that when I talk to him I feel more motivated to "be good" throughout the day. He has so much belief in me that I've never had in myself and I want to prove him right.
Also, I am HUNGRY. All the time. But not for candy or treats or sweets. I'm hungry for fruit and vegetables and yesterday I was craving turkey even though I rarely have it. Also, I drink a TON of water. I keep having to fill my water bottle up at work when before I could barely finish one while working. When I do crave something I shouldn't have - like deviled eggs yesterday too - I think of substitutes. I had deviled eggs yesterday, but I put much less mayo in them and more mustard and some pickle juice. They actually weren't bad! I'd like to figure out a way to get rid of the mayo completely, but I am not a fan of using yogurt as a substitute.
Also, I hate celery. All is does is remind me that I can't have ranch dressing. But I switched to that instead of low fat wheat thins in order to save myself some carbs. Celery and peanut butter isn't too bad.
And now, for your daily Yoda story.
Yesterday I was doing my night time workout. Cardio, of course, since I had done weights in the morning. Then I realized that I wasn't sure if I should do an early morning workout two days in a row. And if so, I knew that I wasn't supposed to do the same weight lifting workout two days in a row. Yoda was there, so I decided to ask him about it.
For most of the time I was there, he was busy training another woman. (LOL. That makes it sound like he's cheating on me.) I did my own workout and by the time I was finished, he was downstairs at a computer with her, signing her up for more training. I sat at one of the tables and waited. Usually it just took a couple of minutes.
But after a few minutes, I realized that there was a lot of chitchat going on. They were discussing food and calories and things of that nature and I realized that this was going to take more than a few minutes. So I decided to leave and that I'd just interrupt on my way out.
I caught his eye as I walked by.
"Since I worked out twice today I only have to work out once tomorrow, right?" I said hopefully.
"Nope." He said. "Twice."
"But I don't know what to do. I can't do weights two days in a row."
He agreed and told me to do my weight training from a few weeks ago, the one that he had texted me a photo of. (Yoda writes down what I do every week and he used to make copies for me but I asked if he could just take a picture of it with his phone and text the photo to me so that I don't have to carry around a piece of paper. Now he does that every week.)
But after the week is done, I usually either delete them or transfer them to my computer to save room on my phone.
Yoda was not amused when I told him this. The lady he was talking to laughed, though. I think that the dynamic between me and Yoda is quite entertaining to everyone around us. He said he would text me the one he wanted me to do before he left the gym and I started to walk away. Then he said - loudly because I was several feet away from him by now:
"What are you doing tonight?"
I was confused. I mean, all this talk of shipping me and Yoda and suddenly he says that?(Although Yoda has a girlfriend - a very nice one and I think she's good for him.) Also, you should have seen the look on the other lady's face. She was equal parts amused, confused, and shocked.
It took me a second to recover, but I knew the right answer. It was a continuation of a short talk we'd had that morning while I was doing my weights.
"8 hours of sleep. I know. I'll try."
Normally I get 5-6 hours. Yoda is never pleased with this. He wants me to get 8 hours.
I don't think that he realized how his question sounded to other people around us. Anyone else asking me what I was doing tonight would mean that they might want to hang out or go out. But Yoda just wanted to remind me that I don't get enough sleep!
Anyway, I ended up getting 7.5 hours and he was quite impressed. Honestly, it wasn't on purpose though. I was just so tired that I couldn't keep my eyes open even though I had a ton of things I needed to get done last night.
I hope he doesn't get used to me doing everything he tells me to. I have a rep to protect and I don't want him to know that he has all the power!!
As for this weekend, I have some FUN planned. I'm going to Zumba tonight. Then I train with Yoda in the morning. Directly after I train I am showering and heading to Lava Hot Springs for a family reunion/campout. It's so much fun there. They have a pool with platforms to jump off of and with water slides. Then you can also float the Portneuf River in inner tubes (which is scary for me). Then they have natural hot pools where you can soak and relax.
As I mentioned before, there is one temptation snag - CHEESE FRIES. They are DELICIOUS, too. I ate them last year and Yoda was very angry since I had just promised him that I wouldn't eat them.
You know what?
I don't need them. I'll just keep telling myself that over and over! Cheese fries = Setback.
