To Find New Strength, Exercise Your Trust Muscles

Friday, June 22, 2012

"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." ~ Isaiah 40:31, NLT

I call this, "staying in the Trust Zone". I am trusting God for a place to stay so I won't be homeless.

I am staying with a family while unemployed, who were kind enough to take me in. Their leasing agent called, said the owners of the house are moving back to town & want their house back; so they have to move asap. With no notice and wanting to stay in the neighborhood, they have to take whatever's available. They are downsizing from a 3bdrm with an office and a sunroom, into a 3bdrm with no other rooms, so there will be no room for me.

I will have to put my stuff in storage and find a place to sleep elsewhere.

I've started collecting boxes. I cannot afford the $ to hire someone, so I will be doing the moving myself.

Wednesday at work had to make *special* arrangements to get Thurs & Fri, June 28 & 29, off to move.

Came home Wednesday night: date has changed, is now July 31 that we must be out by, not June 30. Sigh . . .

Yesterday at work, told them we can cancel the special arrangements for June 28 & 29; as it will be July 31 not June 30 I'm moving.

Came home last night: date has changed, is now July 15.

We all have STUFF to deal with in our lives. Need some New Strength to deal with it?

I do.

"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." ~ Isaiah 40:31, NLT

I am practicing staying in The Trust Zone. Eagles who soar take the same amount of energy to soar, as they do when they are at rest. Stay in The Trust Zone. I've done my fair share of running and walking, too. When you grow weary and faint while walking and running, that's an indication to go back and read the verse again.

Pray first, then make plans.

Today is the last day this week at my piddly pay job and I am so grateful - Happy Friday! I normally work 4 days, 7 hour shifts: Tue-Fri, 12-7. This week worked Monday also, and W, Th, & F worked 12-9. I am so tired, but, am getting alot of steps in. Unfortunately there is almost no impact / very little impact to my paycheck because it's minimum wage. But the exercise is great. I've had more than 10,000 steps several days, without walking anywhere else.

Stay in the Trust Zone.

One of my favorite verses. It has been extra special to me the last few years. One day , several years ago when I was so weary and discouraged, I was just crying out to God. I pulled up behind a Hoosier Tradewinds truck and they had this verse on the truck. I loved this verse for many years, but that day, it was JUST FOR ME, and I have clung to it ever since. That moment was a turning point in my life on a new quest for seeking God. I saw another Hoosier Tradewinds truck just the other day again in my travels with this verse on it. What a blessing how God can bring us just what we need. That verse came at a time when I was already going through something that was the most difficult and painful life experience I had ever faced. I'm glad God set me on that path that I learned some lessons about this before I encountered increasing life challenges that would have surely brought me down had I not trusted in God.

This verse actually led me on a quest for strength, which led me to a quest for joy, which led me to a quest for living in the presence of God (in his presence is fullness of joy), which led me to developing an attitude of gratefulness, which led me to a conscious effort to renew my mind. Lots of growing pains in that sentence, believe me. But the one thing that never changes is that GOD IS FAITHFUL! ALWAYS! FOREVER!
