So, last night, it was one disaster after the other. I had pre-logged my food, but things just didn't go right. I was starving and dehydrated, and just went for what sounded good, which happened to be Ramen Noodles, the Oriental flavor. "Yum!" I thought, "I haven't had these in ages, they're so good!"
So, as I cooked the package, I read through the ingredients. The seasoning had a trace amount of beef in it, which, if you'll recall from a previous blog I did, any commercial meat causes me to have an allergic reaction. So I took an allergy pill before, just in case the tiny amount would cause a problem even though I didn't think it would.
Well... I took a few bites and concluded that one of the foods I'd once loved was now one of THE most foul-tasting, unpalatable, items I had ever put in my mouth. I swear, when I was a little kid and I ate loose change, that tasted better than this crap.
When I first heard your tastes will change, I thought it was a bunch of bogus. But it's true. I still don't love most veggies, but I do like quite a few. And my list of once-a-favorite foods that I now hate (even when I crave them) continues to grow:
5. Ramen Noodles
4. S'mores
3. Homemade Chocolate Cake
2. Cookie Dough Ice Cream
1. Queso Chip Dip
