My birthday was so special this year just because of the people that I spent it with, and all the friends I've made at Spark who sent greetings and goodies, and the friends that sent greetings on facebook, and in person.
This year nothing went wrong! Some birthdays have been miserable, followed by near tragic, followed by just too fattening and depressing. But this year was relaxing, enjoyable, and delicious.
My daughter made me a great dinner. We had grilled chicken and pasta with feta cheese with a pesto sauce, and sauteed kale, all of which I LOVE. She was so sweet and checked out my allowable foods online at the EAT RIGHT FOR/4 YOUR TYPE website, and then she and my grandson designed and constructed a multi layer ice cream cake for dessert.
It was a joy spending time with my BELOVED and ADORED grandson, who helped his mom shop for my presents and make the cake. And my daughter's bf is so nice and we get along so well, that he is a pleasure to be with.
I even had a little talk with my daughter about how special it is to spend time with her and how much I would love to see more of her. It's something that I have hinted at so many times, but this time I just came out and told her how special the time is that I spend with her. I guess she needed to hear that because she agreed to make more time for me and her to be together. It's one of those things that when your daughter asks what you would like for a gift and you say, "More time with you," and it gets brushed aside. So this year I told her I would love to have some light weight lounge/sleep gowns for around the house, and THEN, I HAD THE BIG CONVERSATION WITH HER LATER. Its all about timing I guess, and I'm trying to learn that lesson, however late in life it is.
