Do you also suffer from it?
It was 90 degrees with a heat index making it feel like 93. I decide that I am going to go on my usual 5 mile walk at the park-weather be damned. Yeah-great idea.
I believe I gave myself a heat stroke.
Why is it that my stubbornness only works to my detriment? Why, I say why?
So on my 2.5 mile stumble back to my car. (I walk 2.5 miles out and 2.5 miles back there is no way to short-cut it) I was obviously hot, nauseous, dizzy, weak, mildly disoriented and I had difficultly breathing. Then there was the most ferocious headache I have ever had in my life. As soon as I got back to my car I cranked the air and drove to the vending machine, paid 2 dollars for a water and guzzled it. When i got home I got another bottle of water, laid down, and fell asleep. When I woke up I didn't feel any better but I took a shower. After my shower I was freezing. I am under a blanket now.
This is the point where I took some meds for the headache and ate a healthy snack. I do feel slightly better. My head still hurts but not as intensely, I am still dizzy, but I am starting to feel hungry.
(all of this nonsense because I was too stubborn to take a shorter walk. Ugh)
Lesson Learned
I, Carrie, do so solemnly swear to never ever do that again.
I am counting on you, my spark friends, to keep me on the path to righteousness! lol
