Update April 2013
We made a change to the site so that all members get our new Fitness tracker. We have made a lot of improvements to the new tracker, so it should only add to your experience. However, if you have any problems or issues, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

We are happy to announce we made some upgrades to our Fitness Tracker, adding more tracking options plus making everything more streamlined.
A quick summary of the changes are:
- There is now just one “unified search” box where you can search for cardio, strength, and other activities all in one place. (Previously, you searched for and tracked all of these activities separately.)
- You now can see and track calories burned for all activities, including strength training. This has been a long-standing request from our members.
- You can copy exercises to another day and also create exercise groupings, much like you would "food groupings" in the Nutrition Tracker. This makes it easier to track a group of exercises you tend to do multiple times a week, for example.

Really, why did you change it? sure, for people with computer skills, it is probably okay---but not to us challenged ones---and there are a lot of us on here. And if you are going to do it, then you need to create a tutorial for us to use that is very, very simple to follow---like don't skip simple steps as there are some that won't understand ---and an announcement or something would have been nice to have and instructions on how to save your programs before it happened. I am probably okay with it as the only thing I add anymore is my water aerobics since I have the Fitbit for other stuff---but if I want to do strength and want ideas, how do I do this? the old system allowed one to find things to try and I really liked that feature. 1249 days ago
Please bring back the old tracker......tried repeatedly for several days to log exercise and could not record it or save it or in most cases, could not find where to actually record it. I agree with the unhappy majority.......ditch this new tracker. It is not at all user friendly. Frustration discourages the faithful from logging their progress... 1250 days ago
I'm swimming against the tide of general opinion, here!
I have been using the new tracker since it first came in, and altho' it was different and I was kinda lost to start with, I soon found that after adding the ones I use regularly to my favourites, that it is actually very easy to use. I MUCH prefer this one to the old one!
I am very sad the tracker changed. This is not user freindly, at least not for me!! I can't figure out how to use this new one. Where are the demo's for the strength training exercises?? I use them all the time!!! That is how I am learning to do them. That is what has gotten me this far & still working on it!!! So, who do I talk to, to see about getting the old one back. Now, I have done 3 strength training exercises today and I can't track them!!! BUMMED!! 1250 days ago
I have tried, this just isn't working for me, I miss the little pictures showing the exercises, I miss the fact I could search for new exercises by selecting add new and just putting the area I was trying to work. Please give it some thought, let the users choose! 1250 days ago
I do NOT like the new fitness tracker, nor do I like the new food tracker!! Both are very confusing to me. Why are things being changed? They were fine the way they were in the first place. By reading all the previous posts.........I say that 98% of the Spark People community does not like the changes. That is NOT a good thing. 1250 days ago
I suppose this will be the end of the fitness tracker. it looks much like windows 8 , nobody but microsoft likes it. I don't like neither the new fitness tracker , nor the food one. the old ones were much better. 1250 days ago
So now in order to get my exercise minutes for reffing I have to make up milage? I hate to be so negative but I used to look forward to tracking my workouts and getting points, but now it just frustrates me. I hope you listen to all the negative comments from about 99 per cent of the comments and give us back the old system 1250 days ago
I still HATE this new tracker with a passion. If so many people hate it, which I can read right here, why would SP want to keep it? Newer isn't always better - this this definitely isn't. 1250 days ago
Add me to the list of not liking the new tracker. Like many others, I keep my cardio and weights separate. One I track by weights and reps. The other by time and distance. Not even remotely similar, and are working to achieve two different goals. Please, give us the option to use the old tracker if we wish. 1250 days ago
I am with most of those who have posted here. I like the old tracker as it isn't as time consuming as this new one. Having to add my strength exercises each day I do them = and so far, haven't even figured out how I am able to do that. I've tried changing the settings, but it isn't showing my strength training at all, anywhere, so really don't like this tracker. We had an option before, I didn't like the new one then and I still don't. I want my old one back. 04.26.13 Update: I have figured it out, entered my normal weeks worth of exercises and strength training and I am set for the week. All I have to do next week is copy this week, basically, or enter it from my groupings folder. It takes a little while to set it up, but it's worth it, as so much is. Now I like it. Does 98% of the people's opinions matter? Just curious. It seems like there are times when "for your own good" is shoved down our throats, and even though we are asked how we feel about it, there is no intention whatsoever of the "powers that be" actually listening to what others have to say about it. I'm trying, but I STILL hate the new one, I didn't use it before for a reason, and that reason didn't change because it was forced on me. Just saying.... 1250 days ago
I agree with many others here. I prefer the old tracker, that is why I continued to use the old version when we had the choice between the two. Please give us the option back!
I especially liked having my strength training exercises show up pre-listed on my ST days. Having to enter them individually every day is a nuisance. It was so much easier to just check them off and add or subtract exercises as needed. 1250 days ago
By all means allow this new tracker as an option, but don't force it on us. I personally find it completely unhelpful. I used the quick tracker because I do not have time to break down every move in a workout dvd/class. Don't get me wrong, I love SP and think you do great things. This is just not one of them. I'll be tracking my FM on my SP blog until you fix this. 1250 days ago
I liked the separated cardio and strength sections in the old tracker. Please bring it back. Also, when I track miles I track them from the cardio exercise equipment ie treadmill, elliptical etc. It would be nice to have those choices in the mileage tracking. Thanks. 1250 days ago
Got a Spark Point for using the Spark People Web Search to find a new Fitness Tracker since you discontinued the old tracker and don't seem to note that over 90% of the responders here don't like your new fitness tracker. 1250 days ago
It appears that you dropped the old trackers altogether, which you were maintaining, I guess, through this transition. However, I like keeping strength training separate from cardio; graphs do not tell me much. I would rather see what I did, not a graph. Is it possible to keep both trackers on the site? 1250 days ago
As I stated last summer when the new tracker first came out, I'd much rather use the old one. I understand there are some advantages to this new tracker but I honestly find this new tracker more difficult to use. 1250 days ago
